Pundit Charlie Nicholas believes that Liverpool could turn to Celtic boss Ange Postecoglou if Jurgen Klopp was to leave the club.
The Reds’ season has been inconsistent to say the least, with the most recent result coming in the form of a 3-0 defeat to Wolves. That loss leaves Liverpool in 10th place in the Premier League table and 11 points adrift of the top four.
Liverpool are now without a win in their last four top flight matches. In fact, the Reds have lost each of their last three league fixtures, conceding three goals in each of them and scoring just once.

As a result of this form, Klopp’s position as manager has been the subject of debate among some pundits and in certain corners of social media. However, there has been no suggestion at all that Klopp will leave his post at Anfield, or that the club will dismiss him.
This hasn’t stopped Nicholas from speculating that Celtic boss Postecoglou could replace Klopp in the Anfield dugout. The former Arsenal striker has explained why he thinks Postecoglou would be ‘ideal’ for Liverpool.
“Jurgen Klopp would have a major impact on Celtic,” said Nicholas, in his column for the Scottish Daily Express.
“I am not a Liverpool fan by any stretch of the imagination but I would be concerned about the possible impact managerial change at Anfield could have on Ange Postecoglou.
“Would the Reds hierarchy come calling with Klopp sitting on the perimeter of things? Liverpool aren’t having a great season and by their usual standards it has been a real struggle.
“I know the Liverpool fans don’t want Klopp out but what happens if he turns around and says enough is enough? Could Ange for Liverpool become reality?
“Ange will have ambitions as well. Yes, he is at a top club but would a big club in a big league have even more pull?
“I know Ange is building something special at Celtic but I do think Liverpool would have too much pull for him. If Liverpool were to look for a manager then surely Ange would have to come into the equation.
“Look at the job he has done at Celtic and the style of football he plays. Ange is also an experienced and proven manager.
“I hate to say this because I know a lot of my fellow Celtic fans won’t like me saying this but Ange would be ideal for Liverpool.
“I genuinely think Klopp will remain in charge in the short-term. But there could be change at the end of the season or if Liverpool were to be bought over. Ange is a ruthless winner and I love the way his teams play the game.
“I just hope Celtic can keep Ange up here for as long as they can. If he wasn’t considered by the Anfield board then that to me would be an even bigger surprise. Ange is bang on.”
