• I was surprised and pleased to see Felicity Cloake’s reference to Farmhouse Fare (How to make the perfect bara brith – recipe, 1 March). I still have my mother’s copy of this book and often refer to it for traditional recipes. At this time of year I always use the one for Welsh cakes.
