‘Don’t mention the spy!’

“Don’t mention the spy!” is the Daily Mail’s headline as it reports on “farcical scenes” in the Commons when MPs were warned not to identify the suspected “Chinese spy”, who denies the charge. As tension grows, The Telegraph notes that Britain cannot afford to cut ties with China, according to Business Secretary Kemi Badenoch.

One in three female NHS surgeons have been sexually assaulted by a colleague over the past five years, says The Times. Sexual misconduct is rife and appears to go unchecked in the profession, according to a study which has been presented to NHS England, the General Medical Council and the British Medical Association.

Wilko will “disappear from the high street next month” after another rescue deal fell through, says the Financial Times. The chain’s collapse is “a further blow to hollowed-out high streets across the UK”, it adds.
