JIND: Activists have alleged that the Haryana State Women's Commission (SWC) failed to visit Jind district even once to meet the victimized girls, despite the revelation of a shocking incident involving the sexual assault of 142 minor girls over two months ago.
According to the activists, the police have lost the trust of the girls, leading many to be hesitant in coming forward, as they believe that a fair and timely investigation has not been conducted.
Activists further claim that the SWC merely issued directions from its Panchkula head office but showed no interest in meeting the affected girls, even after being aware of the gravity of the incident. This marks the first time in Haryana's history, since its separation from Punjab in 1966, that 142 minor girls were reportedly sexually harassed by a school principal. However, activists argue that the issue has not been addressed with the seriousness it deserves.
