Haryana win U-19 Cooch Behar Trophy

MUMBAI: As expected, Haryana played out the final day to beat Mumbai on the basis of first innings lead and clinched the Cooch Behar Trophy (for Under-19) in the final at the Eden Gardens in Kolkata on Tuesday.

Dinesh Bana stroked an unbeaten half-century (62 not out, 83b, 12x4), adding 95* in 147 balls for the sixth wicket with 'keeper-bat Sarvesh Rohilla (28 not out) to secure a draw for Haryana, who finished at 21 for five in their second innings.

Meanwhile, Mumbai Under-19 skipper Musheer Khan was awarded the 'Man of the Tournament' prize for scoring 670 runs and taking 32 wickets.

Brief Scores: Haryana 437 & 211-5 (Dinesh Bana 62*, Mayank Shandilya 31; Suryansh Shedge 3-86) drew with Mumbai 303. Haryana won on first innings lead basis
