Liverpool midfielder Harvey Elliott and Manchester United forward Amad are among ten Premier League players to be included in the 2022 Golden Boy award shortlist.
The Golden Boy award is won by Europe's best youngster aged under 21 in a calendar year and began in 2003. Barcelona midfielder Pedri, who has been nominated again for this year’s shortlist, landed last year's award and past winners include Erling Haaland, Lionel Messi, Kylian Mbappe and Wayne Rooney.
Reds midfielder Elliott is joined on the 100-player shortlist by his new teammate Fabio Carvalho, whom Liverpool have signed from Fulham this summer. United also have two representatives on the shortlist as Amad – who has returned from a loan stint at Rangers – is joined by Sweden international forward Anthony Elanga.
Wolves also have two players shortlisted with their Portuguese forward Fabio Silva joined by Dutch Under-21 international defender Ki-Jana However, who joined from Liverpool two years ago as part of the deal that took Diogo Jota to Anfield.
Manchester City are represented on the shortlist by Brazilian full-back Yan Couto, who has yet to play a senior game for Pep Guardiola’s side and was most recently on loan at Portuguese side Braga. Neither Chelsea nor Arsenal are represented in the shortlist.
New Tottenham arrival Pape Matar Sarr – who the club signed last summer but stayed at Ligue 1 side Metz for the campaign – is also included, as is Brighton's Polish midfielder Kacper Kozłowski. The 18-year-old joined the Seagulls from Pogoń Szczecin earlier this year and had been loaned out to Union SG. Leeds forward Joe Gelhardt – who netted twice in 14 Premier League appearances last term – is also shortlisted.
