Hartcliffe stabbing: Police issue update after incident involved 'a number of people'

A number of people were involved in an incident that saw a man being taken to hospital with a stab wound.

Police were called to Hartcliffe yesterday afternoon (April 19) by the ambulance service after a man was found with a stab wound in the Randolph Avenue area.

A spokesman for Avon and Somerset Police said this afternoon (April 20) that they now know the incident involved a number of people and began at around 2.35pm on St Peter’s Rise near the pharmacy and continued outside the convenience store. St Peter's Rise is about a 20-minute walk away from Randolph Avenue.

The spokesman said that no arrests had been made and that enquiries are ongoing. Eyewitnesses told Bristol Live that, at the time, an air ambulance also landed on the Fulford Road park.

The man was taken to hospital, but his injuries are not believed to be life-threatening or life-changing. Police are investigating and have asked members of the public to come forward with any information.

A spokesperson for Avon and Somerset Constabulary said yesterday: "The ambulance service called us at 3.23pm today (Tuesday 19 April) following an assault in the Hartcliffe area of Bristol.

“A male was found in the Randolph Avenue area to have received a stab wound and was taken to hospital. His injuries are not believed to be life-threatening or life-changing.

“Police remain in the area searching for the offender, or offenders, involved and are conducting CCTV and house-to-house enquiries. We’d ask anyone with information about what happened to call 101 and give the call-handler reference number 5222092433.”
