Harry Winks has written an emotional goodbye message to Tottenham Hotspur fans after his move to Leicester City was confirmed on Saturday afternoon.
Spurs secured a sizeable £10million windfall for Winks, who will try and help the Foxed achieve promotion back to the Premier League following their relegation last term. The talented midfielder joined the north Londoners when he was just five-year-old, making his first-team debut during Mauricio Pochettino's time with the club back in 2014.
But he eventually fell down the pecking order in recent years, struggling for game time throughout Jose Mourinho, Nuno Espirito Santo and Antonio Conte's tenures with the Lillywhites. Winks then tried his hand in Serie A, spending the 2022/23 campaign on loan at Italian outfit Sampdoria.
The 27-year-old enjoyed a solid second half of the season at the Luigi Ferraris Stadium after his first part of the campaign was blighted with injuries. from January onwards and made 20 appearances for the Genoa-based club. Now, he has sealed a permanent move away from Tottenham, taking to social media to thank the Spurs faithful for their support over the years.
Writing on Instagram, Winks said: "Joining my boyhood club at the age of 5, it was always my dream to wear the Spurs shirt just once. 203 appearances, champions league final and so many amazing memories later I can hand on heart say I have achieved the things the 5 year old me could only have ever dreamt about.

"Now it is time for the next chapter and I am excited for the challenges ahead. I’d like to thank everyone at the club for everything they’ve done for me but most of all I want to thank the fans for the love and support over the last 21 years."
