Prince William and King Charles have reportedly reached a "stalemate" in their attempt to rebuild their relationship with Prince Harry as the feud between the royals continues on.
Harry and his wife Meghan Markle moved to California after deciding to step down from the Royal Family in 2020 but despite the Duke returning back home to the UK on several occasions, little progress seems to have been made on patching up his fall out with his brother and father.
The couple have only been back to the UK together twice since their move with both times being for important royal occasions despite their status as non-working members of the Firm.
The Duchess accompanied Harry for Her Majesty's Platinum Jubilee celebrations in June and then again for Queen Elizabeth's funeral in September but has not been back to Britain since, the Express reports.
In the lead up to the King's Coronation last month, Harry accepted his invite to attend one of the most important days of his father's life with an insider describing it as a mood of "genuine co-operation" between Buckingham Palace and the Sussexes, The Telegraph reports.
The Duke attended the historical event but made it a flying visit as he immediately hopped on a plane back home as soon as the official crowning ceremony was over to celebrate his son Prince Archie's fourth birthday in LA.
The 38-year-old Prince apparently did not speak to either his father or brother while at the Coronation and also managed to avoid them during his two recent trips to London as a part of his court case against the UK press.
A royal commentator has claimed that while some "frostiness" between the two parties has now eased, King Charles is in "no hurry whatsoever to bury the hatchet".
Camilla Tominey added: "The emergence of a letter written by Meghan to the King, expressing her concerns about unconscious bias in the Royal family, seems to have put paid to any imminent hope of reconciliation."
Sweet family pictures of Harry, Meghan, Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet are still hung up in Clarence House, suggesting the King and Queen still hope for a reconciliation.
An insider claims: "Under the circumstances, you might think that the pictures would be moved, but they’ve still got pride of place. To all outward appearances, they still seem to be a very happy family."
While the Firm had tried to "come to terms" with the bombshell allegations made about the royal in the Sussexes' Oprah interview, the publication of Harry's controversial memoir Spare in January "took everything right back to square one".
A source claimed: "There’s a sense of high irritation about everything they’ve done.
"The Netflix documentary was viewed as largely anodyne and nothing much to worry about – it’s the book that, for the family, has really cemented the view that all Harry ever seems to want to do is air his unhappiness.
"There’s not a lot of trust left to allow the family to maintain a good and open relationship. How do you speak openly without it ending up in volume two?"
