Harry Styles to read CBeebies Bedtime Story to children - and mums can't wait!

Pop star Harry Styles will be reading a Bedtime Story for children on CBeebies - and mums can't wait for the show to air next week.

Fresh from headlining the world famous Coachella Festival, Harry is the latest celebrity to read a special story to youngsters on TV. Airing on the evening of Monday, May 23, Harry will be seen in his pyjamas reading 'In Every House, on Every Street, written by Jess Hitchman and illustrated by Lili la Baleine.

The story is a heartwarming celebration of homes and the different families that live in them. Introducing the segment, Harry says: "Tonight’s bedtime story is about a house full of love and laughter."

After the news was announced on Monday morning, scores of mums took to social media, excited at the prospect of seeing the former One Direction singer on the children's channel.

A number of parents commented "My good god" or "Oh My God". One wrote: "Might have to watch this, you know for the kids."

Another mum said: "Finally, a bedtime story I’m interested in." And one fan commented: "I physically cannot cope with this information. My favourite person on my favourite childhood show on my birthday."

Harry is following in the footsteps of a string of celebrity bedtime story readers on CBeebies. Previous guests have included the Duchess of Cambridge, Ed Sheeran, Tom Hiddleston, Tom Hardy, Hollywood star Reese Witherspoon, Ellie Goulding, Dave Grohl and Rose Ayling-Ellis who signed her story in British Sign Language.

CBeebies Bedtime Stories in on each weekday at 6.50pm on the CBeebies channel and is also available on BBC iPlayer.
