Harry Styles has once again asserted his dominance over the UK music scene, achieving a number one chart double for the second time following the release of his latest album, the Official Charts Company has confirmed.
The 32-year-old's new 12-track record, titled Kiss All The Time. Disco, Occasionally, shot straight to the top of the album chart upon its release on Friday. Concurrently, his latest single, American Girls, has claimed the coveted number one spot on the singles chart. This feat mirrors his success in 2022, when his album Harry’s House and single As It Was also secured a chart double.
The Official Charts Company noted that Styles has delivered the biggest opening week for a male solo artist in nine years, a record previously held by Ed Sheeran with his album Divide in 2017. This new release, his first in nearly four years, also leads the UK vinyl albums chart, marking it as the biggest selling vinyl of 2026 to date.
Styles rose to global prominence as a member of One Direction, formed on ITV's The X Factor in 2010 alongside Niall Horan, Liam Payne, Zayn Malik, and Louis Tomlinson. His solo career, launched after the group's hiatus in 2016, has seen him achieve widespread acclaim, including multiple Grammy and Brit awards. This week's success marks his third number one album and fourth number one single as a solo artist.
Elsewhere on the albums chart, singer-songwriter Olivia Dean secures the second spot with her Brit-certified gold record, The Art Of Loving. Morrissey's Make-Up Is A Lie lands at number three, as he continues his tour despite receiving backlash for cancelling a Spanish gig due to "sleep deprivation". Fleetwood Mac's compilation 50 Years – Don’t Stop is at four, with Bruno Mars' The Romantic completing the top five.
On the UK singles chart, Worcestershire-born Styles holds three positions within the top five: American Girls at number one, Aperture at four, and Ready Steady Go at five. Grammy-winner Dean's collaboration with Sam Fender, Rein Me In, drops to number two after three weeks at the summit, while Bella Kay's TikTok viral track ILoveItILoveItILoveIt takes the third spot.
