Harry Styles did not spit on Chris Pine, according to eagle-eyed fans.
Footage, taken at the spikey Don't Worry Darling premiere, is circulating online – rumoured to show Styles ‘spitting’ on co-star Chris.
The short clip shows the moment dapper-looking Harry sits down next to Pine, slightly bending down before getting into his seat.
Some say it was in that moment that he ‘spat’ at Chris as he gives a shocked expression shortly after Styles settles in his chair at the premiere.
Several viewers reckon Chris’ reaction, which followed by stunned laughter, was due to allegations that Styles spat in his direction – others say he was just acting ‘dazed’.
Now fans believe the mystery is well and truly solved after eagle-eyed followers say Chris was just discovering his sunglasses in his lap.
Slowed-down footage doesn’t seem to show any spit leaving Harry’s mouth and it appears to be shut – with viewers asking why he would do such a thing in front of the world’s press.
The entire event was attended by journalists and cameras surrounded the stars – so fans say it would be unlikely that Styles would do such a thing so publicly.
One fan said: “The only thing happening in that video is Chris Pine forgot where he put his sunglasses."
They added: “While he was clapping he saw them between his legs and picked them up, that’s literally it, like watch the whole thing.”
Another added: “How Harry is going to spit on Chris with his MOUTH CLOSED and in a place FULL OF CAMERAS, it is known that gringos are dump but please, use your head a little bit.”
Backing up the sunglasses theory, a third viewer said: “Makes sense... It makes a lot more sense actually.”
“I'm sure he was exhausted from the entire event so I wouldn't put it past him,” said another. “Plus you can see the glasses were really far down in the chair so he probably didn't see them unless he looked hard between his legs (that sounds weird but stay with me) it def happens to me.”
One fan, against the theory, said: “You mean the sunglasses that were in his hand 2 seconds prior?”. Another clapped back: “I don’t think you wear glasses… I’ve searched for them while wearing them.”
“I feel relieved by this conjecture tbh,” Tweeted another. “I don't fully support H in this dwd mess but spitting on a co-worker just seemed too rude and blatant.”
