Prince Harry 's oldest pals called him "f****** nuts" for dating Meghan Markle after she told them off for being un-PC, it has been claimed.
The Duke of Sussex's friends were put in their place by his then-girlfriend for their jokey banter during a shooting weekend at Sandringham in 2016, according to a new book.
Author Tom Bower describes an alleged incident in Revenge: Meghan, Harry And The War Between The Windsors which occurred soon after Harry and Meghan had gone public with their relationship.
The prince had invited 16 friends for the do, mostly old chums from Eton, as well as their wives and girlfriends.
However, some told him Meghan failed to make an effort, on top of ticking them off about their risqué language and views.
Mr Bower explained Harry "had not anticipated Meghan's reaction" amid a weekend of "endless banter, jokes - and a lot of drinking".
In an extract of his new book, published in the Sun, he writes: "Their jokes, involving sexism, feminism and transgender people, ricocheted around the living-rooms and dining-rooms.
“Without hesitation, Meghan challenged every guest whose conversation contravened her values.
“According to Harry’s friends, again and again she reprimanded them about the slightest inappropriate nuance. Nobody was exempt."
Mr Bower went on to say some of Harry's friends raised concerns about Meghan's "wokery" and it was felt "Harry's world would not be her world".
They feared she "lacked any sense of humour", claims the biographer and added that as they drove home from Sunday lunch texts pinged between the cars, with one pal saying: "Harry must be f***ing nuts."
Meghan would again clash with Harry's friends during a trip to Jamaica in March 2017 to celebrate the marriage of Tom Inskip.
Nicknamed 'Skippy', he was the Duke's Eton pal who was with him when he was infamously snapped naked in Las Vegas during a hot tub party.
Mr Bower says many of the 40 guests at the three-day bash at the Round Hill Hotel in Montego Bay thought Meghan behaved "princessy",
This included allegedly complaining about the food and refusing to engage with Harry's friends.
