Daniel Radcliffe is expecting the pitter Potter of tiny feet with American partner Erin Darke.
The Harry Potter actor, 33, and Erin, 38, who have been together for a decade, are due to become parents later this year.
A spokesman for the actor confirmed the news this evening.
And a source close to the couple revealed: “Daniel and Erin could not be happier to be expecting. They are absolutely thrilled, and can’t wait to become a family of three.
“They told their families and friends recently. It’s an incredibly exciting time.”
Daniel shot to fame aged 12 as wizard Harry in the multi-billion pound film franchise.
But he may be steering his offspring away from following his lead after struggling with drink as a young adult in an attempt to cope with being in the public eye.
He told Newsweek magazine last year: “I want my kids – if and when they exist – I would love them to be around film sets.
“A dream would be for them to come onto a film set and be like: ‘God, you know, I’d love to be in the art department, I’d love to be something in the crew.
“I wouldn’t want fame for my kid. Film sets are wonderful places. A lot of the time it can be wonderful for kids, but it’s really the fame side of it that should be avoided at all costs.”
Daniel met Erin in 2012 when they filmed the movie Kill Your Darlings in which he played Beat generation poet Allen Ginsberg.
In 2020 he said of their encounter: “It’ll be a hell of a story to tell our kids one day, our characters are meeting and flirting with each other, so there is this kind of sweet record of us just meeting for the first time.”
