Harry Potter fans will be thrilled by secret hidden in two-bed flat on sale for £315,000

A Harry Potter-themed flat that hides a secret that will thrill fans is on the market for £315,000.

The two-bed pad is on the market in the city where JK Rowling created the boy wizard and it's filled with decor that will leave Potterheads salivating.

Situated in the Canongate area of Edinburgh, the rooms are filled with furniture and that will make fans feel like they have been sorted into Gryffindor.

Potter appears to have worked some of his magic on the master bedroom, with a four-poster bed and candles that look like they are floating. Another smaller double bedroom has been decorated to look like it is the Hogwarts Express.

A Dumbledore-like figure, a dragon and a tree that resembles the magical Whomping Willow plant from the books can also be found in the kitchen.

A white owl resembling Harry's trusty pet, Hedwig, has also been hung up on the wall in a final nod to the fictional series.

The flat was decorated by Harry Potter fan and owner Yue Gao who has dotted keys and other wizardry items throughout the flat.

Estate agent Aberdein Considine listed the property for offers over £315,000, and said: "This magical, rare and unique third floor flat is sure to leave you spellbound.

"Beautifully upgraded and decorated by a renowned interior designer, this property's magical theme is truly bewitching.

"The attention to detail of this stunning home will only be fully appreciated upon internal inspection and the property is ideally to be sold fully furnished and as seen.

"The theme of the flat is evident as soon as you walk through the front door with stylish wallpaper and furnishings which set the scene for the remainder of the property.

"There are three cupboards within the hallway providing excellent storage.

"The main bedroom also has two front facing windows along with a full wall of full height drapes, cupboard with hanging rail and a striking four poster bed.

"Bedroom two has been designed to replicate a train cabin with a built-in bed and built-in cupboard."

Social media users were impressed with the property when the agent teased several images earlier this month.

Carrie-ann Holland said: "Found our next home. Wonder if there's a cupboard under the stairs for the wee boy?"

Sarah Davidson said: "Cancel the new house, this is what you want."

Laura Jaffray said: "Is it Harry Potter's actual house?"

And Victoria Slater added: "Accio magical apartment. I need this in my life."

The first novel, Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone, was released in June 1997 and followed the lives of Harry himself and his friends, Ron Weasley and Hermione Granger.

Rowling made the Elephant House Cafe in Edinburgh famous after it was revealed that she wrote the first book there in 1995 and 1996.

Harry Potter was turned into a movie series in 2001, which ended in 2011.

Since then there have been two spin-off movies in the Fantastic Beasts series.

The books have sold more than 400 million copies worldwide and been translated into more than 60 languages.
