Hibs striker Harry McKirdy has hinted at a potential move away from the club despite only joining the Scottish Premiership outfit just two months ago - by liking an Instagram comment.
McKirdy, 25, joined Lee Johnson 's men on summer transfer deadline day after a to-and-fro which originally saw him set to stay at the County Ground before his 11th-hour move. Making his debut at the start of September, McKirdy has only started one game for Hibs from a possible eight; and that came in the 6-1 defeat at Celtic two weeks ago, where he was subsequently subbed off at half-time.
Chances have not come as a regularly as McKirdy may have hoped, and whilst he continues to harbour hopes of a spot in the first-team, he failed to make the matchday squad for Saturday's 1-0 win over St Mirren at Easter Road. But McKirdy has fuelled rumours of a potential exit from Hibs back to his old stomping ground in Swindon - after liking an Instagram comment asking him to 'come back'.
The comment is from Swindon Town's official Instagram, which celebrated the Robins' 5-2 win over Mansfield Town to take them up to fourth in League Two. McKirdy liked the post, leading to comments asking him to rejoin Scott Lindsey's men.
And, with his playing time at Hibs perhaps not being as consistent as first hoped, McKirdy liked a comment from a fan stating "Time to come back now @harrymckirdy" which has sparked rumours of discontent in Edinburgh.
With zero goals, zero assists and just 200 minutes of football for Johnson's side, McKirdy could fall further down the pecking order if his judgement on social media is perceived to be adverse to their bid for a top four finish.
