Harry McKirdy holds Hibs talks after Swindon social media post as explanation demanded

Harry McKirdy has been warned of his conduct online by Hibs after a meeting with manager Lee Johnson.

The forward made headlines this week after replying to a Swindon Town fan who asked for his return to the League One club after his exit in August, replying to the 'time to come back' message with 'not wrong.' It left part of the Hibs fanbase angry after a slow start to life in Edinburgh for the winger who was their club's ,marquee bit of business on a frantic transfer deadline day.

It is now claimed by The Scotsman that Easter Road boss Johnson has asked for an explanation of his actions after the message was soon deleted by the 25-year-old. Signed until the summer of 2025, McKirdy has claimed the meaning of his message has been misconstrued and that he'd want a move back to his previous club at one stage.

It's been a tough start to life in Leith amid injuries and so far, he has made made just one Premiership start since leaving England.

He's a player who netted a fine 26 goals in all competitions for Swindon last term but has yet to find the net in green.

Up next for the Hibees is an away trip to Aberdeen on Friday as the club looks to cement their grip on the league's third place.
