Who do the fans think Dide is?

Eddie Nketiah

Dide raps with a distinctively Southern accent so many fans have already predicted that he most likely from London, or plays for a London club. During the early days of of the identity search some inquisitive fans made the bold prediction that Dide was in fact Arsenal starlet Eddie Nketiah with some making the strenuous link that Dide was an anagram for Eddi.

Alex Iwobi

Another educated guess that points to Dide’s presumed southern routes. While Iwobi may a little older than the age the rapper referenced in the song, the bars about his attributes lined up quite well.

Ivan Toney

Perhaps the most outside bet than the other two, Toney’s natural voice has already ruled him out as the running for the Dide title. Much like Iwobi and Nketiah, his southern routes and playing style meant fans speculated that he was Dide early on.

Harry Kane

Mostly mentioned in jest, comments and TikTok and Instagram regarding Dide don’t go amiss without the prolific Tottenham striker being mentioned. However, like Toney, Kane’s speaking voice and speech pattern is much too different from Dide’s for him to be considered.

Harry Maguire

Commenting that Harry Maguire is the illusive Dide will probably get you the most likes. Not because it’s a solid guess but because of how far fetched it is. While the Manchester United captain and centre back is very talented, it’s hard to imagine that he could hide his very distinctive Yorkshire accent long enough to rap in a London accent.

Sheyi Ojo

Perhaps the most sure bet, an internet sleuth thinks they have cracked the code by proclaiming former Watford player Sheyi Ojo to be the masked rapper. One fan who has studied his videos extensively has pointed to a strikingly similar tattoo on the wrist of Dide that matches up with the former Liverpool player who is from Hemel Hempstead.

Sheyi made just eight appearances in the Premier League for Liverpool and his career has been littered with a number of loans to Championship clubs such as Sheffield, Cardiff, Wigan and also Scottish football powerhouse Rangers.
