Tottenham boss Ange Postecoglou insists Harry Kane will not be impacted by speculation surrounding his future and the striker is “totally committed” to Spurs while at the club.
Kane has entered the final 12 months of his contract and Tottenham have rejected two bids from Bayern Munich for him, the latest of which was understood to be worth around £70million plus add-ons.
The 29-year-old is open to a move to the German champions and ex-president, and current board member, Uli Hoeness claimed on Saturday that “[Kane] has very clearly signaled that his decision was made. If he keeps his word, we’ll get him.”
Kane, will not, however, force through a move and Postecoglou has now concerns over the striker’s frame of mind.
“There are a lot of people that know Harry better than me but he’s not going to get fazed by anything,” Postecoglou told reporters in Australia, where the squad have touched down for the first part of their pre-season tour.
“He’s here and while he’s here, he’s totally committed to what we’re doing. That’s the way I’ve seen things.”
Postecoglou and Kane met for the first time last Wednesday following Kane’s return for the start of pre-season training.
“I had a good chat with him,” the new manager explained. “As I said before [in my first press conference], nothing earth-shattering or defining from I guess what people are seeking. Just a good chat.

“I introduced myself and we spoke mainly about the club and where he thinks it’s at and where he thinks we can improve things. It’s not a specific vision for one person, it’s about the group. Me and Harry were perfectly aligned in that, we want to see a successful team this year.
“Harry’s the same as all the other players, you know. It’s not something I ask when they walk through the door, ‘Have you got a ticket or not?’ It’s not something that I’m sitting down and demanding from people right from the outset.
“The reality is we have a bit less than a month before the season starts, the transfer window is still open for a while, so we’ll see how it all transpires.”
