Former Chelsea midfielder Florent Malouda has urged Harry Kane to 'forget rivalries' and spearhead a trophy charge under Graham Potter next season. The 29-year-old striker faces an increasingly uncertain future at Tottenham after entering the final 18 months of his contract.
With Kane yet to commit his long-term future to the north London outfit, a number of top European sides are said to be keeping tabs on his situation. In fact, the England international almost joined Manchester City in the summer but, after a move collapsed, Pep Guardiola welcomed Erling Haaland to the Etihad Stadium instead.
Despite Manchester United being heavily linked with a move for Kane, Malouda told DAZN Bet why the striker would be a better fit at Stamford Bridge than at Old Trafford. The Frenchman said: "Chelsea should definitely join the race for Harry Kane.

"Kane is a world-class player who knows the Premier League, and it is an era where Chelsea need a striker with his goalscoring record and the ambition to win trophies. If Kane ever leaves Tottenham, it will be because of the lack of trophies.
"Kane would be a great signing, but I’d be surprised if he left Tottenham for Chelsea because of the rivalry. It’s not like leaving Tottenham for Arsenal, but to leave Tottenham for Chelsea, I’d be surprised but anything is possible.
"He’s a great option for any club in the Premier League, and for Chelsea he’d be a great pick."
Following Tottenham's exit from the Champions League to AC Milan, Thierry Henry insisted that Kane is too good to settle for goalscoring accolades at Tottenham. The former Arsenal striker said: "If I was him I would go.
"It’s up for him to choose where but I would go, he has to know where he wants to go. A player like that, a player of his calibre, should not talk about just his goals at the end of his career.
"If I was him, I wouldn’t be able to sleep at night if all I could talk about is my goals," Henry added. "Listen, it’s a great achievement and I have massive respect for him - I think he’s outstanding. But if that’s the only thing you can bring to the table at the end of your career, that’s tough for me."
