Harry Kane and Son Heung-min set a new Premier League record by combining for their 37th goal in Tottenham’s win over Leeds.
Chelsea legends Didier Drogba and Frank Lampard had long led the all-time leaderboard for setting up each other’s strikes, before the Spurs duo reached their tally last weekend against Manchester City.
On Saturday, Tottenham romped past Leeds with both Kane and Son on the scoresheet. Late in the game, the Korean made it 4-0 after a superb through ball from his teammate set him up for a calm finish past Illan Meslier.
After the game, Son told BT Sport: “It is a big honour, the record is important, but the three points are important because the midweek result was not what we wanted. The record is good but it was important we got the three points.”
When together on the pitch Kane has 99 goals of which Son has assisted 19, while the England talisman has returned the favour for 18 of the winger’s 66 goals.
In 2020/21, they set the record for the most combinations in a single season with 14.
Further down the all-time leaderboard are the 29 goals produced by the deadly duos of Robert Pires and Thierry Henry, and Sergio Aguero and David Silva. Tottenham have another pair in the top five, with the Teddy Sheringham and Darren Anderton’s 27 combinations.
Kane stated: “We have been playing with each other now for a long time.

“We understand each other's game well now, when I drop deep Sonny knows where to run and hopefully I am able to put him in. You saw that with the last goal.
“We enjoy playing together but the most important thing is the team and it was a fantastic display from everyone.”
