Harry Kane and Son Heung-min agree on Tottenham's 'crazy' performance vs Man City

Tottenham Hotspur striker Harry Kane has praised his teammates for their hard work during the club's dramatic 3-2 win over Manchester City.

Spurs got off to a flying start when they took the lead through new man Dejan Kulusevski just four minutes into the match. They must have feared the worst, though, when Ilkay Gundogan had City level by half-time.

Regardless, Kane then struck on the 59th minute to give his side the lead before a Riyad Mahrez penalty in injury time seemed to surely settle the game.

Tottenham were not done there, however. Indeed, Antonio Conte's men showed tremendous spirit to keep going to the death and somehow managed to claim all three points when Kane netted in the 95th minute of the match.

Speaking to Sky Sports after the game, Kane outlined just how pleased he was with the team for not letting their heads drop despite the late setback.

He said: "Yeah crazy game, we worked so hard for so long and then being 2-1 up for a lot of the second half there it would have been so heartbreaking. But credit to the boys we got another chance at the end and I was able to put it away.

"It’s not a time to get too carried away. We go Burnley away midweek and we know that will be a tough one."

Son Heung-min was also keen to point out the resolve of his team, saying: "We have a group of positive players and positive guys and I think that means a lot.

"We lost three games in a row but we still believed and worked really hard. When you face Manchester City you maybe think this isn’t the best time but we thought maybe it is the best time to face them."

This is, of course, not the first time this season where Spurs have managed to claim all three points in the dying embers of the game.

In fact, it was exactly a month ago when Conte and co turned up at Leicester. They trailed the Foxes right up until the 95th-minute of the game when once more they found the fight to score. Incredibly, after Steven Bergwijn equalised, Tottenham were not done there. The Dutchman then scored just two minutes later, meaning his side left the King Power Stadium with all three points.

After their most recent heroics in Manchester, Spurs are left in seventh-place, two points off rivals Arsenal, and four points off Manchester United in the Champions League places.

Another interesting layer to the story is the fact that Kane almost ended up signing for City in the summer as well. When manager Pep Guardiola was asked about this after the match, he refused to be drawn into a discussion on the matter.

"It never was an option so let's forget [the summer]," he said. "It's not necessary today to show his quality and his goals today, all of the UK knows that."
