Prince Harry and Meghan Markle reportedly want the Royal family to apologise to them before they attend the King’s coronation.
New reports claim that the Duke and Duchess of Sussex are demanding a ‘sit-down meeting’ with senior members of the Royal Family in the wake of the release of their explosive Netflix documentary.
The Sussexes are said to want The Firm to ‘take responsibility’ for the pain and damage they put the couple through.
The Times reported that a source close to the self-exiled royal couple want the meeting to take place before they attend King Charles’ coronation in May.
Harry and Meghan want the face-to-face meeting to address the claims they raised in their £88million Netflix series.
The outlet reports that the couple were particularly incensed that the Palace facilitated a warm reconciliation meeting between black charity boss Ngozi Fulani, and Lady Susan Hussey, a former lady-in-waiting after a race row.
Harry and Meghan reportedly see this meeting, where Hussey offered her ‘sincere apologies’, as a ‘double standard’ as no such efforts have been made for them.
It was also suggested that they were upset by the lack of a response from the Palace to their numerous allegations that they laid out over the six-episode documentary.
The source said: "Nothing like that was ever done when Harry and Meghan raised various concerns — no meeting, formal apology or taking responsibility or accountability.
"That is hard to swallow — 100 percent yes they’d like to have a meeting.”
Speaking in the final three episodes of the controversial Netflix docuseries, Harry confessed he would have "to make peace with the fact we’re probably never going to get genuine accountability or a genuine apology" from the Royal family.
Meanwhile, King Charles and Prince William plan to maintain a silence in the face of the latest wave of claims.
Those close to the father and son say they did not watch the series, but relied on aides’ briefings.
Royal insiders believe Harry and Meghan’s relationship with the family could be irreparably damaged after the Duke claimed William bullied them out of the Firm.
