Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s teaser for their new Netflix project dropped just hours after the Princess of Wales’s touching cancer update.
The new show is a part of the couple’s multimillion dollar deal with the streaming giant, which they signed after stepping down as working royals in 2020.
Alongside images from the series itself, the post was accompanied by a brief synopsis that revealed the new show’s title.
“POLO is a new documentary series that follows elite global players and offers an exclusive, behind-the-scenes look at the fast-paced world of the sport,” it read.
“From Archewell Productions and Boardwalk Pictures. Premiering this December.”
The post received a mixed reaction because it coincided with the release of a poignant video of the Wales family reflecting on Kate’s cancer journey.

POLO is not the only upcoming series from the Sussexes set to hit the platform, and the duchess is also set to release an as-yet untitled new lifestyle show that celebrates “the joys of cooking, gardening, entertaining, and friendship.”
It has been speculated that its release date, which remains unknown, will coincide with the launch of the former actress’s luxury lifestyle brand, American Riviera Orchard.
There is a lot riding on the success of these upcoming shows as the Sussex’s deal with Netflix, worth a reported $100 million, comes to an end next year. It is not known if there are any plans to renew it.
The Independent has reached out to a representative for Netflix and the Sussexes for comment.
