Harry and Meghan ‘reunited’ with Royal Family at Madame Tussauds for Platinum Jubilee

Prince Harry and Meghan have “reunited” with the Royal Family for the Queen’s Jubilee in waxwork form at Madame Tussauds.

The waxwork figures of the Duke and Duchess of Sussex have rejoined the London attraction’s other royals in the Royal Throne Room for a limited time while their real-life counterparts prepare to jet to the UK to celebrate Her Majesty’s 70-year reign.

Madame Tussauds had moved the couple to its Awards Party section after they stepped down as working royals, meaning their figures could be found alongside celebs such as Dwayne 'The Rock' Johnson and Dua Lipa.

Tim Waters, General Manager at Madame Tussauds London, said: “With Harry and Meghan returning to the UK to celebrate Her Majesty’s Platinum Jubilee it felt only right that our figures come together once more on our Royal Throne Room set to join in the family festivities.”

The Duchess of Cambridge, Kate Middleton, is now wearing an emerald Jenny Packham gown worn by the duchess to two royal functions.

A red, caped Safiyaa gown worn on one of Meghan’s last royal engagements at the Royal Albert Hall on the eve of lockdown has been put on her waxwork figure.

Meanwhile the Duke of Sussex, Charles, Prince of Wales, and William, the Duke of Cambridge have been dressed in tuxedos.

The Queen’s figure is dressed in a recreation of the white and silver lace dress, worn in the official Diamond Jubilee portrait photography, and covered in 53,000 Swarovski elements.

“Our much-loved Royal Family figures have also been given an elegant new look ahead of the much-anticipated celebrations, decked out in their black tie finery to mark this once in a lifetime occasion,” said Mr Waters.

“At Madame Tussauds London we have a long history with The Royal Family, with British monarchs doing us the honour of sitting for our artists since 1809.

“We’re so proud this has continued into the 20th century and we continue celebrating major milestones for Her Majesty The Queen.”
