Prince Harry and Meghan Markle reportedly "raised eyebrows" when they walked solo down the aisle of St Paul's Cathedral for a service during the Queen's Platinum Jubilee celebrations.
The service of thanksgiving was the only event they publicly attended during the extended bank holiday weekend, and they arrived at St Paul's alongside other non-working royals including Princess Beatrice, Princess Eugenie and their husbands.
However, they then proceeded to walk solo hand-in-hand down the long nave of the cathedral to take their seats.
They were sat next to Eugenie and her husband Jack Brooksbank, with the couple along with Beatrice and Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi having to awkwardly stand up to let the Sussexes past to reach their seats.
And according to royal expert Camilla Tominey, there was some surprise behind palace walls with their solo walk - especially as they could have walked together with Beatrice, Eugenie and their husbands.
Writing in the Telegraph, she also claimed that the reason why Harry and Meghan were spotted leaving Clarence House the morning before the service was because they were in a security "pod" with Beatrice and Eugenie.
During the service, Harry and Meghan did not sit close to Prince Charles and Camilla or Prince William and his wife Kate.

Then, after the service, the Sussexes skipped a lunch at the Guildhall and they also did not attend the star-studded Party at the Palace on the Saturday night nor the Jubilee Pageant on the Sunday.
And according to royal expert and biographer Duncan Larcombe, the fact that Harry and Meghan and their family flew home to California before the festivities ended is very telling.
He previously told True Royalty TV's The Royal Beat show: "Those four days will haunt Prince Harry for the rest of his life.
"They [The Duke and Duchess of Sussex] were relegated to sitting behind the Duke of Gloucester.
"They didn't take part in any way, shape or form visibly at the Trooping of the Colour and fair play to them.
"You can take your pick with things they were excluded from this weekend, whether they excluded themselves or not, they flew home on a private jet before the thing had even finished.
"That you could say was just them being respectful of not stealing the limelight but that will not be how Prince Harry sees it.
"He will be fuming about the way he and his family were treated - if it was the Royal Family who said, ‘you’re not coming to the royal box’, 'you are not going to sit there while the likes of Mike Tindall and other minor non-working royals were there."
Meanwhile fellow expert and royal editor of Vanity Fair, Katie Nicholl added that she believes Harry and Meghan decided not to be more visible in the Jubilee celebrations because they knew they wouldn’t be in the front row - especially at the Jubilee Pageant.
She explained: “I honestly think it’s [because].... they knew that they wouldn’t be in that front row. And why did they leave the Royal Family?
"They left because they weren’t in the front row. I believe that’s why they weren't at the other celebrations as they did not have centre stage seats.”
