Harry and Meghan make generous donation in Archie and Lilibet's name after boy's death

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have seemingly made a massive $5,000 (£4,100) donation to a GoFundMe fundraiser in the name of their children after a nine-year-old boy suddenly died.

The Sussexes made the kind donation to the Zajfen family, from Los Angeles, who tragically lost their son George.

But the heartfelt gesture was made in the names of Archie and Lilibet.

George’s mum, former model Kelly McKee Zaijfen, 42, announced her son’s heartbreaking death on Friday on her Instagram account.

Whilst it isn’t known how Meghan and Harry know the family, the Duchess’ ex-husband Trevor Engelson and his wife Tracey Kurland also donated $1,000 (£835).

Kelly took to Instagram to post a tribute to her son. She said: “My sweet baby boy. My world is shattered into a million pieces. I have little ability to breathe. Walk. Function. Sit. Stand.

“You were the light of my life. Your smile made the room so bright and your heart was the most perfect and sweetest.

“You left this Earth and left behind so many people who loved you. I don't know how I'm able to go on. How I can function. How I can be the light and have joy ever again but I'm going to try. Try hard for your beautiful twin sister."

Kelly and her husband Julian are also mum to nine-year-old daughter Lily, George’s twin.

She added: “I can't comprehend any of it”. Her tribute accompanied a picture of George smiling from ear-to-ear as hi twin gave him a piggyback.

Following the tragedy, family friend Kate Jefferson decided to organise a fundraiser for the grieving family to help with funeral arrangements and “anything else the Zajfen family may need”.

Kate described George as “the happiest, kindest boy that walked the earth.”

She added: “George’s heart was compassionate, his smile contagious, and his love for his twin sister and parents was palpable.

The family friend has fundraised most of the target $50,000 following the loss of the nine-year-old George (Gofundme)

“This unexpected loss is beyond devastating and the Zajfen family will need time to even begin to heal.

“No parent should lose a child, and no child should have to endure the loss of their twin. Our hearts are broken for Kelly, Julian, Lily and their entire family.

“Kelly and Julian are two of the most giving, philanthropic humans and now it is our time to give back to them.”

It was through this fundraiser the Sussexes seemingly helped out, donating thousands

Kelly co-founded the Alliance of Moms, an organisation which aims to support pregnant and parenting teens in Los Angeles’ foster care system to ensure they can build a more positive future.

She documented parts of her family life on her Instagram page @_heartmom_. She posted more pictures in tribute to her lost son including one of George and Lily hugging on a beach and the youngster making a heart shape at sunset with his fingers.

George's cause of death has not been revealed.

Of the $50,000 (£41,758) goal, over $40,000 (£33,203) has already been raised and people can donate here .
