Prince Harry and Meghan Markle will now need to reach a "private agreement" with the King if they wish to stay at any royal residences in the future.
The couple who previously lived at Frogmore Cottage finally handed back their keys to the monarch yesterday meaning they no longer have a royal home to reside in if they decide to visit the UK.
It's been reported today that their possessions have now been removed from the home almost six months after they were served an eviction notice around about the time of the release of Prince Harry's controversial memoir Spare.
As a result the couple are now considered 'homeless' in the UK should they decide to return and are expected to rely on close family or friends or will have to book a hotel during any future visits to Britain, the Mirror reports.
It's now been reported by The Sun that the Sussexes would allegedly have to reach an agreement with King Charles and be granted his permission to stay at any royal residences after their departure from the UK.
The outlet suggests there are high tensions within the family following their highly successful Netflix docuseries 'Harry & Meghan' last year and the release of Prince Harry's bombshell memoir Spare earlier this year.
The royal couple are said to have received an eviction notice from the King for Frogmore Cottage just days after the book was published in January.
Their remaining possessions that had been inside the property are said to have been shipped out to their home in California and their former residence is seemingly set to be rented out following their exit.
Speaking of the couple's departure yesterday, Courtier Sir Michael Stevens said: "We can confirm that the Duke and Duchess of Sussex have vacated Frogmore Cottage."
He added that the property has undergone a significant renovation in recent years with him further commenting earlier this week: "Thus leaving the Crown with a greatly enhanced asset."
According to reports, it is not the only royal residence within the Firm that now lies several vacant as King Charles is said to be buckling down on budgets and has had several other royal properties emptied too.
The monarch is allegedly having an on-going feud with his disgraced brother Prince Andrew as he has ordered the Duke to vacate Royal Lodge in Windsor where he lives with his ex-wife Sarah Ferguson.
However, the Prince has been ignoring the monarch's demands and refuses to leave his property of the last twenty years which he reportedly signed a 75 year lease on when he first moved in.
Prince Harry and Meghan's controversial six-part Netflix series launched in December last year and episodes were released in two volumes by the streaming platform.
The Duke of Sussex's explosive memoir Spare was also highly successful at the time of it's release in January this year and reportedly broke Guinness World Records for being the fastest selling non fiction book of all time in the UK.
