The upcoming Netflix c at the hands of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle is reported to have faltered as the couple call for "significant edits". One royal expert has declared that the request "screams of regret".
The royals signed a multi-million-dollar deal with the streaming giant when they stepped back as working members of the royal family. According to the Mirror they are said to have filmed a documentary about their lives. However, following the death of Queen Elizabeth II, and Harry and Meghan's visit to the UK, it seems that the couple could now be having second thoughts about the content of the show.
It was reported that the couple are now at odds with Netflix after asking if they could "tone down" the show. It comes after sources said the pair are looking to downplay their comments made about King Charles and Queen Consort Camilla - with the couple being critical of the King and Prince William in the past. If the reports are correct, royal expert Duncan Larcombe says it shows they've realised they've "gone too far".

Larcombe told OK!: "Their request to make changes to a show that is paying them millions of dollars screams regret on their part, in my opinion. I think Meghan and Harry are looking at the fuses they have lit and wondering how on earth they’ll be able to stop them going off.
"In one respect, it’s an encouraging sign that, since the Queen’s funeral, it seems they’re trying to make a U-turn on what they’ve said and done. Maybe they have reflected on their actions and realised they’ve gone too far. I think the tragedy, however, is that the decision to make the changes is no longer in their hands."
However, despite the reported requests for amendments, an insider said Netflix is still pushing the project forward. An insider told Page Six: "Harry and Meghan are panicked about trying to tone down even the most basic language. But it’s their story, from their own mouths."
While another source told the publication: "They’ve made significant requests to walk back content they themselves have provided — to the extent that some Netflix staff believe, if granted, it will effectively shelve the project indefinitely."
The opinions come after another royal expert and author, Tina Brown, claimed Harry's upcoming memoir "won't see the light of day" because it will destroy any chance he has of re-connecting with the royals. His bombshell book was due to be released before the end of the year but could now be postponed until 2023 following the death of the Queen.
