Harry and Meghan 'expected' to attend coronation as speculation mounts one could go solo

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are now "very much expected" to attend King Charle's Coronation later this year, according to the latest figures from the bookmakers.

It's still not confirmed whether the Duke and Duchess of Sussex will be part of the congregation gathered inside Westminster Abbey on May 6 to see the new Monarch being crowned as head of state.

From recently being ousted out of Frogmore Cottage to make way for Prince Andrew, to their bombshell allegations in Spare and their Netflix docuseries, relations between the Sussex's and the other members of the Royal family have been strained over recent months.

It comes following the news reported by The Mirror that Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet have not been invited to the historical day, instead watching it on TV along with millions around the world.

Despite the bad blood within the family, William Hill believe both Harry and Meghan are very likely to be in attendance.

Even with recent controversies, the pair are 4/9 to attend the ceremony at Westminster Abbey and 11/4 not to make an appearance.

If either of the ex-working royals decided to attend solo, Harry would be the far more likely candidate, with the Duke a 5/1 chance to attend without his wife.

While Meghan to attend without Harry is an incredibly outside chance at an improbable 33/1.

William Hill Spokesperson, Lee Phelps, said: "While speculation surrounding the royal couple’s plans for May 6 has been rife, we now expect the Duke and Duchess of Sussex to attend the ceremony together at odds of 4/9.

"Should one of the pair choose not to attend, it seems most likely Meghan will be skipping the important date, with Harry to attend without Meghan at 5/1 and Meghan to attend without Harry deemed unlikely at 33/1."

Earlier this month sources close to the Duke and Duchess of Sussex said the couple were yet to solidify a decision about whether to attend the celebrations, which awkwardly lands on their son Archie's fourth birthday.

Harry and Meghan since confirmed they have been officially invited, with their spokesman saying: "I can confirm The Duke has recently received email correspondence from His Majesty's office regarding the coronation.

"An immediate decision on whether The Duke and Duchess will attend will not be disclosed by us at this time."

During an interview with Tom Bradby on ITV earlier this month, Harry was asked if he will come to the coronation if he is invited.

He said: "There's a lot that can happen between now and then. But, you know, the door is always open. The ball is in their court.

"There's a lot to be discussed and I really hope that they can - that they are willing to sit down and talk about it, because there's a lot that's happened in six years. And prior to that as well."

We reported on Tuesday earlier today that Prince Harry could be staying with pop legend Elton John during his trip to the UK amid legal rows, according to a royal expert.

Appearing on Good Morning Britain, Ingrid Seward, editor-in-chief of Majesty magazine, revealed that the Duke of Sussex could be bunking in with the singer in Windsor.

She was asked by host Richard Madeley if she believed it to be strange that Harry would not meet with King Charles after the monarch issued a statement that he was "too busy" to see Harry, and also whether he was devising a plan to upstage his father, who was supposed to be travelling on a state visit to France.

Seward said: "He's probably been in conversation with Elton John - they probably even flew over here together, Harry could even be staying with him in Windsor.

"They probably decided for both of them to go and Harry's lawyers wanted him to go and I don't think that Harry would have even known that his father was going on a state visit. That sounds strange but that's Harry for you."
