Prince Harry and Meghan Markle "didn't ask" to appear beside Her Majesty on the balcony of Buckingham Palace for the first day of the monarch's Platinum Jubilee celebrations, it has been claimed.
It was revealed on Friday the Queen has omitted the couple - who traded in royal life for a new start in the US in 2020 - from appearing on the balcony during the Trooping the Colour parade on Thursday, June 2.
Her Majesty decided "after careful consideration" that only working Royals will be allowed to stand beside her during the historic event - which means her son Prince Andrew will also be left off the list.
After learning of the apparent snub, the Sussexes announced through a spokesperson they are "excited and honoured" to attend with their eldest son Archie and his little sister Lilibet.
It's unclear which parts of the four-day Jubilee weekend Harry and Meghan will attend.
Speaking on US E! News, Harry and Meghan commentator Loni Love said: "First of all, Meghan and Harry asked to come to the Jubilee.
"They didn't ask to be on the balcony so, I think that's the thing.
"I think this is more about Prince Andrew and making sure he's not on it that Harry and Meghan.
"They just added Harry and Meghan so it wouldn't look they snubbed Andrew.
"The thing that Harry and Meghan reportedly want to do is make sure that their grandchildren meet the Queen.
A spokeswoman for the couple said: " Prince Harry and Meghan, The Duke and Duchess of Sussex are excited and honoured to attend The Queen's Platinum Jubilee celebrations this June with their children."
It will be the first time Harry and Meghan have brought their family to the UK since stepping away from royal duties.
Baby Lili is yet to meet her grandad Prince Charles or the Queen and Archie last saw his royal relatives when he was just a few weeks old.
The Jubilee weekend will also see Lili celebrate her first birthday.
