Harry and Meghan admit jealousy over William and Kate's furniture as they shopped in IKEA

Prince Harry has claimed that he and Meghan Markle were 'jealous' of the furnishings Kate Middleton and Prince William had in their royal home, while they had to make do with shopping at IKEA.

In a leaked extract from his bombshell memoir Spare, which was seen for the first time yesterday ahead of its global release next Tuesday, the Duke of Sussex has admitted the pair were envious of William and Kate’s lavish furnishings in Kensington Palace.

Prince Harry ’s autobiography, Spare - which is due to be published on January 10, but has already gone on sale in Spain - lays bare his feelings about the way he was treated by the Royal Family, makes a series of accusations about the Firm, and contains new bombshell revelations.

Harry's shocking claims are the latest that highlight the growing rift between himself and the Royal Family.

Part of the 410-page book makes reference to the Prince and Princess of Wales' walnut bookshelves and priceless art the pair had in their abode.

Harry then reveals that he and Meghan were forced to make do with an IKEA lamp and a discount sofa, which was bought from sofa.com using Meghan’s credit card, according to the Telegraph.

Meanwhile, royal insiders have said that Prince Harry will “never be forgiven” for revealing details of intimate conversations with his father King Charles and brother Prince William in his shocking memoir.

Sources close to the Royal Family said Harry, who now lives in Montecito, California, would be branded a “traitor” because of Spare, which includes allegations that William attacked him as they argued about Meghan.

The source said: “I believe he will never be forgiven. After everything he has said about privacy and intrusion, this is hard to comprehend. His words are so vicious and targeted.

“I don’t doubt he still loves his father and his brother, but it’s impossible to see how he won’t come to bitterly regret his decision to do this."

They added: “He knows he will be labelled a traitor, by crossing a red line so many times, his father, his brother, the Princess (of Wales) and Camilla, it’s utterly extraordinary.”

And Prince William is "going to be furious" at brother Harry over the claims he has made in his book, a royal correspondent has claimed.

Chief Royal Correspondent for Newsweek Jack Royston told Good Morning Britain on Friday: "Obviously William is going to be furious about everything that Harry has put in this book and I actually have some sympathy for Harry in relation to that relationship.

"But William will be furious and I cannot see William wanting Harry at the coronation, after everything that has been said."

Buckingham Palace and Kensington Palace have declined to comment on the revelations.
