Harrow crash: Woman, 43, fighting for life after driver, 75, ploughs into tree in north London

A 43-year-old woman is fighting for her life in hospital after a car crashed into a tree in Harrow.

Officers were called to reports of a collision between a car and a tree on Headstone Lane, in Harrow Weald at around 1.30pm on Monday.

Upon arrival, officers found a car carrying four people. Police attended alongside the London Ambulance Service and the London Fire Brigade.

A 75-year-old, a 44-year-old and two aged 43 were assessed at the scene by paramedics before being taken to hospital.

One of the passengers, a 43-year-old woman, is in a life-threatening condition, police say.

The driver, a 75-year-old woman, has been assisting police with enquiries.

No arrests have been made at this stage.

Police are now appealing to members of the public to share any information they may have about the incident, particularly dashcam footage of the collision.

Detective Sergeant Fiaz Janjua said: “Our thoughts are with everyone impacted by this collision.

“Our investigation is ongoing and we continue to review relevant CCTV footage. We are appealing to the public for assistance and ask that anyone who witnessed the collision to contact police as soon as possible. Any information could be helpful."
