Harrison Ford surprised by former co-star Ke Huy Quan at ‘Indiana Jones’ premiere

Ke Huy Quan brought a little off-screen magic to the “Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny” premiere, where he surprised former co-star Harrison Ford on the red carpet.

Footage of the endearing moment at Hollywood’s Dolby Theatre shows a delighted Ford hugging Quan, who debuted as a child actor in 1984′s “Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom.”

“You’re all grown up!” a smiling Ford said Wednesday night, as seen in a video posted on the the official “Indiana Jones” Twitter page.

Ford, 80, returns as the titular archeologist in “Dial of Destiny,” the adventure franchise’s fifth and final film, which hits theaters June 30. Quan portrayed his young sidekick, Short Round, in the series’ second installment.

The actors previously reunited at the Dolby Theatre in March when Ford presented Quan’s film “Everything Everywhere All at Once” with best picture at the Academy Awards. Quan also won the best supporting actor Oscar for his performance in the multiverse-set movie.

Quan, 51, expressed interest Wednesday in reprising the Short Round role.

“Are you kidding me? I love Short Round,” Quan told Variety on the red carpet. “What a great character. I would like to think he’s following in Indiana Jones’ footsteps. It would be incredible and amazing to revisit that character.”

“Dial of Destiny” is the franchise’s first film since 2008′s “Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull.” It’s also the first “Indiana Jones” film not directed by Steven Spielberg, though John Williams, 91, did return as its composer.

James Mangold, known for “Ford v Ferrari” and “Logan,” directed “Dial of Destiny.” Phoebe Waller-Bridge, Mads Mikkelsen and Antonio Banderas also star in the movie.
