With less than a month left until Election Day in November, a recent poll has revealed interesting insights into the preferences of Hispanic voters in the crucial southwestern battleground states of Arizona and Nevada.
Vice President Kamala Harris is currently leading former President Trump among self-identified Hispanic voters in both states. In Arizona, Harris holds a 57%-38% advantage over Trump, while in Nevada, her lead is slightly smaller at 56%-40%.
However, the survey also highlights that Trump has made gains with younger male Hispanic voters compared to four years ago. In both states, a majority of men under 50 years of age are favoring Trump over Harris.
Specifically, Trump leads Harris among Hispanic men ages 18-34 and 35-49 in both Arizona and Nevada by significant margins.
The top two issues on the minds of Hispanic voters in these states are the economy and immigration, according to the survey results. Additionally, the polls indicate majority support for referendums to protect access to abortion in both Arizona and Nevada.
Arizona and Nevada played pivotal roles in the 2020 presidential election, with razor-thin margins ultimately securing Biden's victory over Trump. These states, along with five others, are expected to be crucial in determining the outcome of the 2024 election between Harris and Trump.
The latest surveys conducted from September 27 to October 2 involved live interviews with 500 self-identified Hispanic voters in each state. The margin of error for the results from each state is plus or minus 4.4 percentage points, indicating a close race between Harris and Trump in these key battlegrounds.
