Harris Campaign Funds Left-Leaning Groups Advocating For Police Defunding

Vice President Kamala Harris speaks at a campaign rally

The Harris campaign recently made significant financial contributions to several left-leaning groups that advocate for defunding the police, reparations, and have ties to radical activists, as per Federal Election Commission (FEC) filings. These groups received hundreds of thousands of dollars from the campaign to mobilize Black voters ahead of the upcoming election.

One of the recipients, Black Voters Matters Fund, received $150,000 from the Harris campaign and has been vocal about defunding the police and pushing for reparations. The group has emphasized redirecting resources from law enforcement to community building initiatives.

Another beneficiary, Black Church PAC, also received $150,000 and has controversial religious leaders on its board. The group has collaborated with organizations advocating for defunding the police to engage in voter outreach efforts in several states.

Furthermore, the Harris campaign allocated funds to National Urban League, Power Rising Action Fund, and National Action Network, supporting their civil rights initiatives and empowering Black women across various sectors.

Notably, National Action Network, founded by a controversial news anchor with longstanding ties to Louis Farrakhan, received $250,000 from the Harris campaign. During a past event, Harris pledged to sign a bill for reparations if elected president.

These financial contributions have sparked discussions about the Harris campaign's alignment with groups advocating for progressive causes such as defunding the police and reparations, as well as their connections to activists with controversial backgrounds.
