Cheers and sobbing commenced as the family of little Harlow Darby Freeman learned that the young baby was found safe.
Footage obtained by ABC 33/40 shows the moment immediately after family learned that local authorities had found Harlow after she had been gone missing on Monday night.
A reporter can be heard updating the public about finding Harlow after the desperate search, and shares that the family cheered and sobbed as they hugged each other over the news.
One woman is seen jumping for joy as she relays information to another family member at the scene.
Others can be seen hugging each other and screaming with joy and relief as local law enforcement assists in controlling the large crowd that has gathered.
Harlow Darby Freeman was in the back of her family's white Lexus SUV on Monday night when her dad ran into a friend's house, briefly leaving the infant unattended.
A thief reportedly took the car with the infant inside. Police issued an amber alert for the missing child, with her mum taking to Facebook to issue desperate pleas to the car thief to simply return her baby.
Police revealed to the family little Harlow has been found alive.
Harlow was taken when the car was stolen from Parrish, Alabama, at around 6.50pm Monday night, July 10.
Police feared the child was in "extreme danger."
A huge search effort was launched overnight after the vehicle was taken from Crest Avenue.
Harlow's aunt, Melinda Hutchison, told local media outlets that the girl's father left her in the vehicle for just a moment while he ran inside a friend's house.
Melinda told local media outlet WBRC that Harlow was being taken to Children’s Hospital in Birmingham, as a precautionary measure.
She said the family is “feeling ecstatic.”
She said: “She’s been found and we couldn’t be any happier. Have to give God all the glory.”
There is no further information from law enforcement at this time as to where Harlow was found or what condition she was in.
Mayor Jared Cagel confirmed that the child had been found safe, though details of what exactly happened or how she was found are limited.
There have been reports that Harlow was found safe within an hour of the amber alert being issued.
It is not known yet whether the car was recovered. Police told local WBRC that Harlow has been found alive and the amber alert has been cancelled.
Her family had been offering a $5,000 reward for her safe return.
Harlow's mum, Bethany Smith, had posted multiple appeals on Facebook for help in tracking down her infant daughter. She begged with the car thief to "Please just give me back my baby".
She also said she would "meet you with no questions asked" and that they can "keep the car", she was just "begging you to please bring my baby to me."
Her final heartbreaking update for the day after Harlow's disappearance read: "The baby still hasn't been found!! Please continue to pray that the baby is found!!!"
