NEW DELHI: Harendra Singh is emerging as the top candidate to succeed Janneke Schopman as the coach of the Indian women's hockey team. Following his recent interview with the national body, indications suggest that he is viewed as the most suitable individual to rejuvenate the team, particularly in the aftermath of their disappointment in failing to qualify for the Paris Olympics.
Notably, Harendra has previously held the position of head coach for the Indian women's hockey team before taking on the role of coach for the United States men's team in 2021. His familiarity with the Indian hockey landscape coupled with his coaching experience makes him a compelling choice for the position.
