A landlord who left a huge amount of waste at their property in Harehills was handed a hefty fine after ignoring orders to remove it.
Muniba Rashid was contacted by enforcement officers to remove the waste at the front of the unoccupied property after they received complaints.
Rashid, of Wetherby Road, was sent warning letters including a Community Protection Notice urging her to do so.

Despite a number of attempts to reach her, the waste remained at the property and Leeds City Council officers were forced to step in and clear the waste.
Rashid was handed a £100 Fixed Penalty Notice as the legal notice was ignored.
She did not pay the notice so Rashid was taken to the court to impose a fine and recover the costs of removing the waste.
At Kirklees Magistrates court, she pled guilty to five charges under the Environmental Protection Act and was forced to pay £2,799 in costs and fines.
Councillor Mohammed Rafique, executive member for environment and housing, said: “As a council we remain committed to taking environmental crime seriously and I would encourage residents to report any issues to the cleaner neighbours team. By working with communities, we can swiftly act to protect the wider community.
“Although people may not think that storing waste on their own land is a concern, it hugely impacts neighbourhoods and can act as a catalyst for other environmental issues, such as littering and fly-tipping.”
