Donald Trump has had enough laughs with his “Sleepy Joe” jabs at former President Joe Biden. Turns out, it was a boomerang that came right back to hit him on the head. Now, he’s napping, and everyone’s laughing.
The hardest-working president the United States has ever seen again dozed off during an important meeting live on television. But it doesn’t reflect his incompetence or declining health. Remember, he “aced” his cognitive tests and got “all As” in his physical examinations just a month ago. He isn’t unfit; his cabinet just did not say anything worthy enough to listen to.
On Dec. 2, every minister in Trump’s cabinet prepared long sermons to sing in his praise. But when the Secretary of State, Marco Rubio, was gushing about his greatness, Trump dozed off to another dimension. The 79-year-old president works so much that he only has a few minutes to sleep every day. Coincidentally, his sleep time always coincides with an important meeting.
Yet, the dedicated president managed to sit through most of the Tuesday meeting, albeit after a few power naps.
Trump took a nap for almost six minutes during the cabinet meeting
For a long time during the meeting, Trump fought hard against the sleep fairy to keep his eyes open. He tried every trick in the book to pretend he was listening attentively instead of daydreaming with his eyes closed. But, after spending the night before on an insane Truth Social posting spree, he was playing a losing game.
As half an hour passed by in the meeting, Trump began squinting his eyes several times. He looked for opportunities to shut his eyes and not get caught. But when Commerce Secretary Howard Lutnick began speaking, Trump sat there looking like a zombie. One look at him, and anyone would say he probably remembers the dream he was seeing better than Lutnick’s words. But we have to give it to him. He acted better than any of us could during the calculus class.
Then, during Marco Rubio’s speech, Trump completely disconnected from reality. Ironically, Rubio was sitting right beside him and addressing him directly with gestures and glances. But all this while, Trump was off somewhere in fairyland.
White House says Trump was “listening attentively,” not napping

As soon as people saw Sleepy Joe’s twin sinking into the seat, people gave him an exclusive name to continue the tradition. “There goes Dozy Don again,” one user on X wrote. Another joked, saying, “Kudos to Trump for not letting his need for midday naps stop him from working a full schedule.” Which might actually be applauding, because who else can sleep on their job and still get called the greatest?
When the White House caught people noticing his fatigue and Karoline Leavitt gave the most unbelievable excuse for his alleged naps:
President Trump was listening attentively and running the entire three-hour marathon Cabinet meeting. Just go back and watch his amazing final answer… This epic moment put an exclamation point on President Trump’s ninth Cabinet meeting of his second term—all of which have been entirely open to the press for the whole world to see.
Yes, the meetings are open to the press, and the whole world saw what Trump was doing. And this isn’t even the first time Trump was caught napping on camera. Just a month ago, he was seen sleeping at another televised White House briefing. And this napping in public isn’t a new habit of Trump. Back during the hush money case trial in 2024, Trump justified himself, saying he simply “closes beautiful blue eyes.” (via Forbes)
Even during a roundtable in Michigan when Trump was campaigning for reelection, he fell asleep while the attendees discussed education. If only everyone had seen the video, we would’ve known who we’re inviting to the White House. But now, we can only watch a bunch of puppets sing his praises while he gets the Nobel Peace Prize in his dreams.
