NEW DELHI: Hardik Pandya is set to lead India in the three-match Twenty20 International series against Sri Lanka, starting January 3, at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai. Former India star all-rounder Irfan Pathan is happy with Hardik's captaincy approach but issued a warning to team management to focus on the Baroda cricketer's fitness "if they are considering him as a long-time captain".

After his captaincy duties in the T20I series, Hardik will also be Rohit Sharma's deputy in a 3-match ODI series against the Islanders.
