James Hardie scored twice as the Mississauga Steelheads defeated the North Bay Battalion 3-0 in an Ontario Hockey League game Friday night.
Mississauga (26-8-1-3) earned a third straight victory and moved 12 points ahead of second-place North Bay (19-15-3-3) in the Central Division standings.
In other action, it was: Kingston Frontenacs 4, Oshawa Generals 3; Ottawa 67's 3, Sudbury Wolves 1; Flint Firebirds 5, Soo Greyhounds 4 (OT); Windsor Spitfires 3, Guelph Storm 2; and Owen Sound Attack 5, Kitchener Rangers 2.
At Mississauga, Ont., Callum Chisholm had the other goal for Mississauga while Joe Ranger stopped 27 shots for the shutout.
Frontenacs 4, Generals 3
At Kingston, Ont., Alec Belanger's goal at 7:30 of the third proved to be the winner for the Frontenacs (22-9-3-0) while Martin Chromiak, with two, and Francesco Arcuri also scored. Calum Ritchie, Cameron Butler and Ty Tullio scored for Oshawa (17-15-1-2).
67's 3, Wolves 1
At Sudbury, Ont., Alex Johnston, Thomas Johnston and Vinzenz Rohrer all scored second-period goals to pace Ottawa (17-19-1-1). Nick DeGrazia replied for the Wolves (12-22-3-1).
Firebirds 5, Greyhounds 4 (OT)
At Sault Ste. Marie, Ont., Zacharie Giroux's goal at 3:48 of overtime secured the win for Flint (21-13-0-2). Riley Piercey, Tyler Deline, Brennan Othmann and Amadeus Lombardi scored in regulation. Tanner Dickenson, with two, Cole MacKay and Robert Calisti scored for the Greyhounds (22-12-2-1).
Spitfires 3, Storm 1
At Guelph, Wyatt Johnston scored twice to lead the way for Windsor (20-11-2-2). Alex Christopoulos had the other goal. Cooper Walker scored for the Storm (19-11-2-1)
Attack 5, Rangers 2
At Kitchener, Ont., Ethan Burroughs, with two, Colby Barlow, Deni Goure and Cedrick Guindon had the goals for Owen Sound (16-15-1-2). Jack Harper and Matthew Sop scored for the Rangers (14-17-1-1).
