This was the aftermath in the city centre this morning (Sunday) after a busy day at Bristol Harbour Festival. Rubbish bins around the harbourside were seen piled high with rubbish with empty bottles abandoned around the sides.
Tens of thousands of people poured into Bristol city centre on Saturday with the same numbers expected in attendance for today's events. Unfortunately with increased numbers of spectators for the festival comes more high levels of rubbish.
Pictures show one bin near M Shed overlooking the Amphitheatre stage overflowing with cans and bottles. Next to the bin was a mound of waste, including food containers, cardboard and glass.

Much of the waste left behind was alcohol cans and bottles. Organisers have imposed a ban on alcohol brought from home in Queen Square but there is nothing to stop people from bringing their own drinks to the others areas.
Alcohol sales in nearby shops have been limited during the festival weekend to encourage sensible drinking. Organisers, however, asked if patrons would avoid bringing glass into the city centre.
Writing on Facebook, Donna Godfrey said she was "very disappointed that everywhere was filled with litter" when she ventured out to the city centre early this morning.
On Twitter, @adelangers remarked: "Cracking ride before it got too hot this morning. Down to Bristol Harbour and back. Loads of litter after day 1 of the harbour festival yesterday."
Earlier this week, Bristol City Council asked patrons to take their rubbish home with them from the Harbour Festival if bins were full. Bristol Waste is in charge of the clean-up operation and worked early this morning to clean up the harbourside in time for Sunday's festivities.
Responding to a Twitter user, the festival said: "The team at Bristol Waste did an amazing job tidying the whole city ready for today and are still working in some parts of the streets. We had tens of thousands of people so they have worked as quickly as they can to get it sorted."
