You already know what today is. While giving your mum a jasmine brooch or a garland on Mother's Day is cute, you're not forever 10 years old. And if you're our demo, we're sure you can do more than that, especially with the help of our pick of different ways to celebrate your mother and show her your appreciation below.
1. Celebrate Queen Mother
"Duay Rak Haeng Pan Din: With Love For The Nation" is a multi-faceted celebration of the 90th birthday of Her Majesty Queen Sirikit The Queen Mother, which takes place on Ratchadamnoen Klang Road from Phan Fa Lilat Bridge to The Democracy Monument. Here are a few highlights.
6,840 beautiful butterflies made from Thai fabrics from across the nation adorn trees surrounding Rattanakosin Exhibition Hall and the Royal Pavilion Mahajetsadabadin. At the front of the Rattanakosin Exhibition Hall, you can witness a life-size elephant puppet, too.
Board a double-decker bus provided by Jesada Technick Museum for a free one-hour city tour until Aug 15. It runs from 2-9pm on weekdays and 9am-9pm on weekends. The shuttle bus goes between the Government Lottery Office and the Royal Pavilion Mahajetsadabadin. You should bring an umbrella in case of rain. You can also park your car at the Government Lottery Office to board the bus.
Enjoy an interactive exhibition held in honour of the Queen Mother inside the Rattanakosin Exhibition Hall. It runs from 9am-9pm until Aug 15. Visit nitasrattanakosin.com.
2. Gift her cute stickers
At the risk of giving Line free advertisements, I think a set or two of mother-themed stickers for your mother is a very practical gift. It can make communication between you and her, well, cuter. Instead of sending you a cold "call me back", she can say it with an adorable avatar. On the other hand, you can buy yourself a sticker set designed for a grown-a** son or daughter, as well. There are even stickers to especially ask your mum for a handout when you're short on cash. You two can also virtually hug each other every day. Just browse Line's sticker shop for illustrators Anzo, Cmos Studio, Yang 4 and shhuuns, who have specifically designed stickers for mother-child correspondence.
3. Something for fashionista mums
Jim Thompson's latest Ready-to-Wear collection drops this month, oozing a Mother's Day vibe through a jasmine pattern in white and blue. As you may already be aware, jasmine is synonymous with Thai Mother's Day and represents a mother's eternal and unconditional love. The Mother's Day collection features a sleeveless boxy shirt, a boho blouse and fisherman pants for women. As well as a Hawaiian linen shirt and classic long sleeve shirt for men to mix and match.
Also included in the collection is an iconic scarf that comes with the latest and auspicious print, The Baisri Su Khwan. The Baisri Su Khwan is used in traditional Thai and Laotian welcome ceremonies to greet new people to the area or local people returning home.
Celebrate mum and women who inspire you at Jim Thompson's flagship store in Surawong and branches in Siam Paragon, CentralWorld, Central Embassy, IconSiam and EmQuartier or the online store jimthompson.com.
4. Bingeing on K-series starring powerful mums
Although there's plenty of content on Netflix that showcases powerful mums, mothers are often the driving force in K-drama storylines. From heartwarming and sentimental to calculating and vengeful, on-screen mothers have proven time and time again that they always stand strong no matter what. To celebrate Thai Mother's Day, you can binge on seven K-series featuring powerful mums portrayed by top stars, from hi-so mothers who prioritise their children's achievements above all else in Sky Castle to a strong mother who has to protect the family after her hubby got them entangled with a cartel in A Model Family (which aptly premieres today!). Some fictional moments may give you feels so have a tissue box next to you, just in case.
5. Music with mum
The Queen Sirikit National Convention Center (QSNCC) has joined forces with the Bangkok Metropolitan Administration to host "Music In The Park: Music For Mom" at Benjakitti Park today and tomorrow. A lighting show will give you a preview of QSNCC 2.0, as well. From 5.50-8.30pm. Visit fb.com/QueenSirikitNationalConventionCenter.
6. A casual meal amid flowers

Dine amid beautiful floral arrangements, which also serve as a backdrop for memorable snapshots with your mum while waiting for your order to arrive. Also, Another Hound Café has rebranded its menu to offer a new concept of "Western Comfort Food with a Twist".
