Happy Mondays star Mark “Bez” Berry has recalled once apologising to his mother for his “out of control” adolescent behaviour.

Born in Bolton, Bez had already spent time in young offender institutions and been homeless at the age of 16 when he joined Shaun Ryder's “Madchester” band as a maraca player and dancer.
