Every year Hindus across the world celebrate the birth of Lord Ganesha, known as Ganesh Chaturthi, with great enthusiasm and fervor. Lord Ganesha is the son of Lord Shiva and Goddess Parvati and he is known as Vighnaharta i.e. the remover of obstacles. In fact, devotees always offer their prayers to Lord Ganesha and seek his blessing before starting any important work or event. Lord Ganesha is also known as the giver of wealth, prosperity, and wisdom and hence he is much-loved and prayed for by most Hindu devotees.
Every year, the auspicious festival of Ganesh Chaturthi is celebrated on Shukla Paksha Chaturthi as per the Hindu calendar. Hence, this year, Ganesh Chaturthi is celebrated on August 31, 2022. Devotees bring home Lord Ganesha, worship him, offer him his favorite sweet which is Modaks, and seek his divine blessings. While the festival is majorly celebrated in the Indian state of Maharashtra, it is also celebrated by Hindu devotees across the world.
