Hanuma Vihari set to play for Madhya Pradesh this season

MUMBAI: India batter Hanuma Vihari will turn out for Madhya Pradesh after finally getting his no objection certificate (NOC) from the Andhra Cricket Association (ACA) after falling out with the state body.

In another boost for MP, India pacer Kuldeep Sen too has returned to Madhya Pradesh after playing for Tamil Nadu last season. "Yes, he'll play for MP this season, as he has got the NOC from Andhra. He was supposed to play for us last season too, but had to withdraw at the last minute due to certain reasons," Madhya Pradesh Cricket Association secretary Sanjeeva Rao told TOI from Indore.

In March, the ACA had served Vihari a showcause notice after the Test cricketer accused the governing body of unceremoniously removing him from captaincy and vowed not to play for the state again.

In a post on X on Tuesday, Vihari wrote that he had been asking for the NOC for the past two months but finally got it on Monday. A player needs an NOC from his home association to play for any other team in domestic cricket.

"I have been asking for NOC for two months, mailed them four times. Didn't give my NOC. Now things have turned, they have issued my NOC immediately," he wrote, referring to the massive win for TDP in the state election.
