Hannah Waddingham Reveals Intense Game Of Thrones Torture Scene

Game of Thrones

Hannah Waddingham recently shared insights into her challenging experience while working on the hit series Game of Thrones. The accomplished actress, known for her role as Unella, one of the Septas of the Faith of the Seven, discussed the physical demands she faced during the filming of intense scenes.

During her appearance on The Late Show With Stephen Colbert to promote her upcoming film The Fall Guy, Waddingham reflected on her time on Game of Thrones. She revealed that she endured a grueling ten hours of being waterboarded for a scene where her character is tortured by Cersei Lannister.

Describing the harrowing experience, Waddingham explained how she was strapped to a table with leather straps, unable to lift her head to maintain the authenticity of the scene. The actress also shared that her hair turned purple from the grape juice used during filming, and she was left with strap marks all over her body.

Despite the physical toll it took on her, Waddingham maintained a sense of humor about the challenges she faced on set. She recounted a conversation with a fellow actor who had also endured difficult scenes, highlighting the camaraderie and shared experiences among the Game of Thrones cast.

Waddingham's candid revelations shed light on the dedication and commitment required to bring the complex and intense world of Game of Thrones to life. Her willingness to push herself to the limits for the sake of her craft is a testament to her professionalism and talent as an actress.
