Arthur Simoneau, a beloved member of the Pacific Palisades community, tragically lost his life while trying to protect his home during a devastating fire last Tuesday. Described as a kind and magnetic person by his family, Simoneau, 69, was a well-respected hang-glider pilot with a passion for adventure.
According to reports from the Los Angeles Times, Simoneau's Topanga home in the Santa Monica Mountains was destroyed in the fire. Despite receiving evacuation orders upon returning from a ski trip, Simoneau made the courageous decision to stay behind to defend the home he had built by hand.
