Handwritten posters accusing a woman of “weeing on benches” have appeared around a Midland’s town centre. The makeshift warnings were posted in Bilston town centre, Wolverhampton.
A post on Facebook page, Bilston Online, attracted 74 comments after asking locals if they’d noticed the unusual posters, Birmingham Live reports. The post read: “Has anyone seen those handmade posters around Bilston about a woman? Somebody got creative and also really bitter."
The social media post included a picture of one of the signs which had been taped to a lamppost in the town centre, along with a picture of the accused’s face. It read: "Beware!! If you see this thing in the town, whatever you do, do not sit on the benches. She's probably p*** on them today."
The handmade posters, with a range of derogatory remarks, have been placed around the town on lampposts and near benches. Each features a picture of the woman’s face.
One social media user wrote: “Nah it all needs taking down its disgusting regardless of whatever she's done wrong there is a way to go about things without being so vile about it get it down says more about the person who did it than her.”
Another wrote to the Facebook page: “All I know is I'm glad I'm not on the wrong side of this person lol wonder what this lady did to deserve this.”
One local man, who works at a nearby business, said he was aware of the issue mentioned in the posters. He added that he’d not seen the woman pictured in the town for several weeks.
A woman who works in a store nearby said: "I know it's causing a bit of a furore online but I have never seen her."
